Rod Couplings
BlackGold can provide two types of couplings which are meet API Class T and Class SM specifications.
Definitions
BlackGold Couplings are designed and manufactured in accordance with API Spec 11B which are divided into sucker rod couplings, polished couplings and sub-couplings.

Sucker rod couplings and polished rod couplings have the same box thread size and the same shape in each end; Sub-couplings have different sizes of box thread in each end.

BlackGold can produce couplings of class T, material of couplings include AISI 1045, AISI 5140 and AISI 4135, material type including rolled bar and cold drawn seamless pipe.

Sucker rod couplings are used for connecting sucker rods and/or pony rods, and/or sinker bars. Polished rod couplings are used for connecting polished rod and sucker rod string. Sub-couplings are used for connecting different size of sucker rods. Sucker rod couplings cannot be used for connecting polished rod.

Anti-galling treatment for Box
Non-metal phosphorization is applied to anti-galling treatment of sucker rod coupling, polished rod coupling and sub-coupling threads. It can reduce the galling tendency during makeup of couplings, sucker rods, pony rods, or polished rods.
Material and Mechanical properties
AISI 1045, AISI 4135 and/or AISI 5140 are used for materials of Class T for sucker rod couplings, polished couplings and sub-couplings. The status of raw stock include hot rolled steel bar and cold drawn seamless steel pipe. Chemical compositions of material as follows:

Mechanical properties of Class T sucker rod couplings, polished couplings and sub-couplings are in accordance with API Spec 11B with a minimum tensile strength of 94975 psi.
To facilitate testing, class T sucker rod couplings, polished couplings and sub-couplings with hardness of 56 to 62HRA can be regarded as meet tensile strength requirement.
